Ahhh... Sleep

So for Christmas Michael got me these ear plugs. I use them mostly when we're traveling or when he lets me sleep in a few extra hours. But last week when we were all feeling sick, my wonderful husband told me to put them in, shut my door and wake up in the morning. He slept on the floor in Hailey's room with her. So I went to bed around 11 and didn't wake up from children until Hailey came in around 8. To which, I promptly sent her back out and to Daddy and slept for another 1.5 hours. I woke up a few times in the night just because, but it was nice to not wake up to crying children. And with ear plugs in, you hear next to NOTHING! Pure bliss! Thank you Honey!!! I love you!

*Oh and to top it off, the next day he sent me out to run errands with JUST Hailey, and when I came home he had cleaned the kitchen, swept and mopped! So even though they tend to always think they are sicker then us at times, they can still be wonderful husbands!!

(Michael, was that good enough?)

Happy Birthday Aubrie Lynn!

Happy 1st Birthday Aubs!

That's right, my baby girl is 1 today! She had a fun day. She went and played at her Nana's house in the morning then went home with Mom and Dad and got her big present. Its a car to push her around in. Then we took her to Fridays for dinner. They sang Happy Birthday to her and everything, she loved it!
Here are a few things about our sweet little Aubs!
  • She LOVES baths. She'll splash around forever
  • Lately she's been into just cuddling. She'll sit with Michael on the couch and watch TV in the nook of his arm.
  • She is always saying "more". Especially when it comes to food. The second she finishes her bite she says, "More! More!"
  • Her favorite foods are fruits & vegetables. Tomatoes, broccoli, lettuce, pickles, bananas, avocados, strawberries, apples, nectarines, you name it, she loves it!
  • She thinks that it is the funniest thing to pick on Hailey. When Hailey walks by she often just hits her for fun.
  • She's a big ol' wussy! She can walk, and has taken steps, but the second she notices that you let go of her, she slowly crouches down and sits.
  • She is a GREAT sleeper. We put her down at 7:30 and she wakes up at like 8 (sleeps MUCH better then her big sister).
  • She'll dance all day long if you'll just turn the music on for her.
  • When she's mad, wants your attention, or just plain feels like it, she'll scream at the top of her lungs for as loud and long as she can.
  • She has a blue blankey (thank you very much Melissa) that she is overly attached to. She has to have it to sleep and nothing else will work.
  • She is just an all around lovable kid!
Happy Birthday Aubrie, we love you!

Wrath of Sickness

So it has consumed us, completely and entirely. Started with me last Sunday, I got a slight cough, thought nothing of it. Turned into a sore throat. Which then turned into Michael having a sore throat. And you know what irritates me the most about that. When I was the only one feeling sick, it was no big deal, he probably didn't even believe me. The days went on as normal, Mom did everything, no changes. But the second he got sick, you better believe (because he sure did) that his sore throat and cough was 100x worse then mine. Men=babies. Enough said.
Well Thursday Hailey got it bad. She wouldn't eat anything. The poor girl wouldn't even swallow her own saliva. She cried all night. Forced me to sleep on the couch because she wanted in my bed, and I don't do well with 2 year old feet on me all night.
2 doctors appointments, 2 prescription medicines, 3 LOOOOOONG nights, 8 crazy tantrums, 10 dripping Popsicles, and 2 MAJOR headaches (belonging to me) later, she is finally feeling a little better. Phew. Just in time for Aubrie to break out with a fever. Will it ever end? At least the bossman finally manned up and stepped in. He is sleeping on her bedroom floor tonight so I can try and rest. I just pray Aubrie lets that happen.
Here's to a better week!

And if anyone knows why men get so much sicker then women, please, enlighten me.

Life of a Correctional Officer

This post is for the big bad Bossman!
Congrats to him, he made the Special Operations Response Team (S.O.R.T) at the prison. He will be flying to Oklahoma in a couple of weeks for training. He is very excited and I think he's kind of nervous for training (although he wont admit it). They pretty much spray you with OC (100x or so stronger then pepper spray) the whole time and make you run, do sit ups, etc, whilst your eyes are burning like hell itself. So congrats to Michael!

Also, the other day he had to take a "shank" off the prison premises because the "hot" trash (which no inmate EVER has contact with) had already been emptied for the night. Well he showed it to me and I insisted on taking a picture of it so I could blog about it. He didn't want me to, I don't know why, maybe because he thought I was being retarded, or silly (which I probably am) but frankly, I don't care. So here is the shank he brought home.

It's amazing what they think to do with everyday objects. I mean seriously, when was the last time you tweezed your eyebrows, looked at your tweezers and thought, ya know what, if I bend the sides out and sharpen it edges, I could really hurt someone with this. It's no wonder they're in prison.

Well off to try and clean my house. It is a wreck, as we all have been feeling like garbage lately. I cursed us the other day by saying, everyone I know is sick, I can't believe none of us have gotten anything. 2 days later... cough, cold, sore throat, fever, and everything else. Dang it you stinkin airborne illnesses!

Happy Birthday Michael!

Yes, his birthday was yesterday, but I was too busy, baking, cooking, cleaning, changing diapers, forcing my daughter to nap, and doing everything else a mom of 2 does!

As a Birthday tribute to him, I just wanted to post a few of the many reasons I love him!

He's one good looking guy!
The way he interacts with the girls is amazing. I love him even more when I see how much they love and adore him.
He does an amazing job at work and is praised by many.
He is a hard working which in turn, gives me the opportunity to stay home with the girls.
Because I can talk to him about anything, he is my best friend.
When he smiles you can't see his eyes, and I think it'd adorable. I swear he is an Asian man stuck in a white mans body.
Supports me in ALL of my endeavors.
Helps with chores.
Makes me laugh when I need it most.
Forgives me for my lack of patience and my many other downfalls.
Makes me feel beautiful.
He always calls on his way home from work and asks me how my day was.
Hardy ever complains!

There are SO many more reasons I love him, I could go on and on, but I wont (because Aubrie just woke up from her, WAY to short nap).

Happy Birthday Sweetie!
